Gatic CastSlot
Gatic CastSlot was installed on the service yards and approaching access roads. The system is ideal in areas where constant, slow-turning traffic is a consideration up to a load rating of F900. CastSlot features an electro painted ductile iron throat section, which is securely fixed to the galvanised steel body, providing an exceptionally robust yet discreet drainage system, sitting neatly within concrete, ashpalt and block surface finishes. It can also be installed in areas likely to experience extreme temperatures. Castslot is manufactured from pre-galvanised sheet steel and will not break during transportation, storage, installation or operation, thus minimising costs for both the contractor and client. In addition, CastSlot is tamper-proof and also offers:
- Quick installation times
- High capacity, strength and durability
- Maximum intake
- Impact resistance
- Reduced maintenance costs
- No moving parts
Challenges met
The curved shape of the service yard and concrete slab required a radius section, and presented an opportunity to showcase the skill of the installing team. Curved application of drainage is notoriously difficult, but TanRo took full advantage of Gatic CastSlot’s versatility, to deliver a sleek and unobtrusive S-shaped installation, promising maximum drainage performance for years to come.
Gatic Kerbdrain
The car parks required a heavy-duty combined kerb and drainage system (CKD), and Gatic Kerbdrain offered the perfect solution; it can be used for potentially any surface or structure with a kerb edge, and can withstand the rigours of prolonged, heavy usage.
Commonly used in distribution yards and along highways, Gatic Kerbdrain moves away from the concept of two-part systems by offering a single, solid, monolithic system measuring 500mm in length and weighing only 8.4 Kg. Not only do these single units negate the need for costly handling equipment, they also present exceptionally quick installation times whilst reducing the risk of personal injury. Each unit can be cut and mitred quickly and easily on site using only a handsaw. This increased efficiency reduces labour, plant and time on site even further, helping to deliver real cost savings and improved workforce safety on every project.
Environmental Commitment
The manufacturing techniques used in the production of of Gatic CastSlot and Kerbdrain, aligned perfectly with the environmental ethos of the project. The recycling potential of the steel and concrete in CastSlot means they can be used as secondary raw material, which avoids the use of virgin raw materials; whilst every 500mm KerbDrain unit is derived from 182 plastic bottles, caps and closures, with the carbon impact of each unit representing only 11.3 Kg CO2eq throughout its life cycle.
Gatic is committed to working processes that meet the requirements of Quality (BS EN ISO 9001) and Environmental (BS EN ISO 14001) Management Systems. These processes are practised company-wide to ensure a commitment to continuous environmental improvements in terms of product design and manufacture.
